Artvin Çoruh University was established on May 17, 2007, through Law No. 5662, which amended the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions. Formerly a part of Karadeniz Technical University, it became an independent institution and took its name from the famous Çoruh River. The first rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Duman, was appointed in 2008. Education

Artvin Çoruh University offers a wide range of academic programs.
